Blast leaves six injured in Swabi

SWABI – Six persons including a traffic police constable were injured when an explosive device, planted in a cycle, exploded at Shewa Adda on Monday.
It was the second explosion of its nature in the district, as earlier the convey of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti, was targeted on Swabi-Jahangira Road in such an attempt.
The cycle was parked in the Shewa Adda Chowk where the police constable was also standing.
Police said that the explosive device was planted in the cycle and when it went off people started fleeing towards different directions.
They said the incident created panic among the traders and commuters.
The locals shifted the injured to the civil hospital Kalu Khan. Two of the injured were stated to be in critical condition. They were being treated free.
The injured were identified as Rashid Bahadar (Katlang), Khursheed Ali (Kalu Khan), Shad Ali (Shewa), Iqbal Hussain (Sheraghund), Waris Khan (contestable) and 11-year-old Sadeeq Usman.
