HAFIZABAD - Believe it or not but it is a bare reality that the Gepco has issued electricity bill of Rs46,000 to a grower against a tube-well connection which has not yet been energised.According to Allah Ditta Bhatti, son of Peera, a resident of Sanbal Village, he had applied for an electricity connection for his tube-well since long and has also deposited the amount required for a Demand Note but the Sub-Division Sukheki has not yet provided him with electricity connection. It is irony of fate that he has been issued consumption bill of Rs15,000 for last month and Rs46,000 for the current month vide non-existing Meter No 004586. He demanded withdrawal of the bills and prompt action against the “efficient official” for issuing bogus bills. He also demanded early power supply to his tube-well.Clerk caught taking bribe:  The Anti-Corruption Establishment Hafizabad on Saturday arrested Fida Hussain, a Clerk of the Education Department on the charge of allegedly extorting Rs7,500 from Mulk Sher of Channi Karimdad for arranging order in his favour. On the complaint of Mulk Sher, the ACE Hafizabad In-Charge Rana Muhammad Ramzan along with a Judicial Magistrate raided the pointed premises and caught the clerk red-handed while accepting Rs7500 bribe from the complainant. The raiding party also recovered marked currency notes from the accused and registered a case against him.
