Intel shake-up on the cards

ISLAMABAD - The federal government has decided to reshuffle nearly 300 officials of intelligence agencies working in different areas of the country.

This decision came in the wake of the poor performance and the failure to gather intelligence ahead of recent terrorist attacks, BBC reported on Saturday, citing an Interior Ministry source, who requested anonymity.
The majority of officials to face transfer have been deployed in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkwa provinces these days.
Those being transferred include officials working on the posts from deputy director to assistant sub-inspector. The changes would be made at the inter-provincial level.
The changes to be made in intelligences agencies include the secret wings of Intelligence Bureau and Frontier Constabulary as well as the Special Investigation group.
Nevertheless, these changes would not affect the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) that is apparently under the control of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
