Explosion near ANP office in Charsadda; no casualties

January 24, 2013

PESHAWAR - An explosion took place near an office of the Awami National Party (ANP) in northwestern Pakistan's Charsadda region on Wednesday.
No casualties were reported in the blast.
Wednesday's explosion comes nearly a month after the killing of ANP leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour in a suicide bomb explosion in Peshawar.
The attack that killed Bilour was claimed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The ANP, which has been a continual target of militant groups operating in northwest Pakistam, has also recently stepped up efforts to convene an all parties' conference for developing a consensus on counter militancy before the general elections in the country.
