QUETTA - At least ten accused were rounded up by Frontier Corps (FC) in targeted operations in different parts of Quetta, on Wednesday, while a landmine was recovered in Ormara. According to sources, FC and Police carried out joint targeted search operation in Killi Kamalo, Sariab, Hudda and other parts of Quetta, and rounded up ten accused persons. “Accused are being interrogated and would be freed if found innocent,” sources said.
It may be mentioned here that following the imposition of Governor’s rule in Balochistan, Frontier Corps was delegated police powers and freed hand to curb incidents of kidnapping for ransom, sectarian killing and other crimes. Upon which, FC is carrying out targeted operation in different parts of Quetta and other towns of Balochistan and has arrested dozens of accused so far. Meanwhile, security personnel recovered a landmine weighing about 5kg in Ormara, a coastal town of Balochistan, and called in bomb disposal squad which defused it.  –Staff Reporter
Separately, security personnel stopped a suspicious vehicle at Gadang check post located on Quetta Chaman highway and seized an explosive device weighing 20kg. However, no arrest was made in this connection.
