MIRPURKHAS – The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) suspended electricity supply of 50 villages due to heavy bill default.
Meanwhile, Wasa management has issued a final 7-day notice to its public sector consumers to realise dues over Rs1.52 billion. Wasa spokesman Nadeem Yousuf said that the water connections of the defaulters would be severed if they failed to clear the dues within 7 days.
Pakistan Railways have the outstanding dues of Rs213.4 million, TMA City 487.9 m, TMA Latifabad Rs258.6 m, SITE Hyderabad 18.1 million, the Cantonment Board of Rs112.6 million, Sindh Sports Board 79.7 million Government Poly Technical College Rs65.67 million, Central Jail Rs62 million, Left Bank Canal Area Water Board Rs31 million and Umeed Qaimkhani Sports Complex Rs34.4 million. He said that those government organisations had been issued notices at different times but to no avail. However, he said, the Wasa would go ahead with its warning of disconnecting the water supply after a week.
