MULTAN - Former federal minister and PTI leader Malik Sikandar Hayat Bosan declared on Monday that his legal team was reviewing the result of NA-151 by election and he might challenge the result as the results of many polling stations were changed by the election commission.
“The results were not only delayed but also all of the last results went into the favour of Gilani. It shows that there was something fishy,” Sikandar Bosan, who is also the elder brother of independent candidate in NA-151 by poll Shaukat Bosan, added while addressing a news conference here at Multan Press Club.
He pointed out that the results of all those polling stations of NA-151 that were declared in the end leave a question mark on the credibility of the result as well as the success of PPP candidate Abdul Qadir Gilani.
He alleged that the PPP candidate committed sheer violations of Election Commission’s electoral code of conduct. “An officer of Evacuee Trust Board namely Asif Hashmi distributed printed job forms among hundreds of voters while people were also offered jobs in BZ University,” he maintained, adding that direct financial support was given to thousands through Benazir Income Support Programme. He told the journalists that the voters were threatened that their BISP financial support would be suspended if they did not vote for Abdul Qadir Gilani while the officials of federal government were given the threats of transfers. “Hundreds of new electricity transformers were installed in the constituency during last week of election campaign to change the opinion of voters,” he further disclosed. He said that the PPP candidate continued to violate code of conduct even on election day as he provided transport to the voters and set up polling camps on the entrance of polling stations.
He said that last pages of most of the voter lists were missing and even the votes of his real brother and his entire family were missing. “Similarly, polling scheme was also a big issue. The polling stations for the residents of those areas, where our voters live, were made in far flung areas.
To a question, he said that although PML-N did a favour to him by supporting his brother in by election, it did not mean he would switch the party. “I firmly stand with my party PTI,” he declared. He said that after the election campaign, he did not have any contact with the PML-N leaders till date. He said that Yousuf Raza Gilani befooled the residents of this area in the name of Seraiki Province. “He was the person who declared before media that talking about Seraiki Province is tantamount to breaking the country and now he is the biggest advocate of this cause,” he maintained. He said that Gilani did nothing for the province while he was Prime Minister.
He said that the masses rejected entire government pressures, offers and personal interests as 61 thousand voters ratified Supreme Court’s verdict against corrupt elements.
He said that
