QUETTA - Lawyers observed Black Day and boycotted court proceedings in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Monday in protest against the new contempt law.
The lawyers did not appear before the high court, the sessions and civil courts and judicial magistrates in Quetta and also boycotted court proceedings in other parts of the province.
They hoisted black flags at the offices of Bar Associations and Bar councils and wore black armbands. Criticising the new contempt law, the lawyers said that the new contempt law was a black law as it was aimed at subduing the judiciary.
