Security post attacked near Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Armed militants attacked a security checkpost at Bara Sheikhan; however, police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel retaliated with full force on late Monday night. The exchange of fire continued for some time, when extremists targeted a joint security checkpost of police and FC with sophisticated weapons, which trigged fire exchange.

Both sides used rockets and other heavy weapons; however, the militants managed to escape while taking the advantage of dark. No casualty was reported in the incident. After the clash, fresh police and FC forces arrived at the spot, and strengthen the positions in the area. The Bara Sheikhan post is situated at the edge of Peshawar and Khyber Agency and that is why militants have attacked it several times in the past.
