Security agencies fail to secure Karachiites’ lives

KARACHI – Law-enforcement agencies have failed to maintain the law and order situation as three people lost their lives and 8 others injured here on Saturday.
According to details, a man accompanied by a nephew, was killed after abduction while another is still in the captivity of the terrorists.
Police officials said that the two brothers, namely Zahid Taj, 30, and his younger brother Siraj Taj were kidnapped along with their nephew Sunny, 21, on Friday.
Zahid was later found near Timber Market within the limits of Napier police station with critical injuries. He was taken to the Civil Hospital, Karachi where he succumbed to injuries.
Shortly after this, the body of Sunny was also found from a sewerage Nullah located near ICI Bridge within the remits of Baghdadi police station. It was later taken to Civil Hospital.
The victims hailed from Haripur, Hazara division, were the residents of Usmanabad, Lyari. Baghdadi SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi quoted Zahid’s mother as saying that the culprits first abducted Zahid and call from Zahid’s cellphone to his younger brother Siraj. Kidnappers demand Rs60,000 as ransom for the release of Zahid.
The victim’s mother further told the police that she along with Siraj and Sunny went Old Golimar area where at least five armed men also abducted Siraj and Sunny.
The bodies of both the victims were tortured brutally while using drill machines and shot multiple times. Police said that Lyari gangster Haris Niazi was killed by the firing of unidentified persons three days ago in Khadda Market of Baghdadi area.
Police suspected that gangsters believed both brother and their nephew were involved in the killing therefore they killed them while Siraj remain missing.
An activist of the MQM, identified as 30-year-old Adil, was gunned down near Korangi Indus Hospital in Zaman Town police precincts. SHO Dilawar Jhokio said that the deceased was the former activist of Sunni Tehreek and recently joined MQM. He was the resident of Korangi area and working at a jeweler shop near his home. He was going on his motorcycle when two armed motorcyclists killed him. His body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
However, at least eight people including a woman were injured in separate incidents of firing.
Jam Yousuf SHOWS ignorance about Nawab bugti case:  Former chief minister of Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousaf said on Tuesday that he was unaware about the operation in which Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed. Talking to reporters here at Siurt (SHC), Jam Yousuf said that he was not involve in the murder of Akbar Bugti in any way.
He said that he would face trial in the murder case. It may be mentioned here that Jam Yousuf had left the country soon after the end of Gen ® Pervez Musharraf’s regime and was in self-exile.  ­He had also been nominated in the murder case of Nawab Akbar Bugti.
Jam Yousaf got protective bail before arrest from the Sindh High Court in Bugti murder case and arrived here on Monday from UAE after ending self-exile.
