ANA SAHIB - 12 dacoits looted 37 tolas of gold, 160 grams of silver, cash and 3 mobile phones worth Rs2.3 millions from a family after taking them hostage in their house.
According to details, dacoits armed with latest weapons and door-opening tools stormed into the house of one goldsmith Ahmed Ali Zurgar, resident of village Dhodey in the jurisdiction of Police Station Mangtanwala, when all family members were sleeping. The dacoits kept his family including wife and children hostage and looted the house and fled away after locking them in a room.
Different social, political, religious and traders representative have expressed their grief and anger over the incident and lamented that district police have failed to provide security to the masses of the area.
They demanded DPO Dr Haider Ashraf and Sheikhupura range DIG Dr Arif Mushatq to take appropriate measures to arrest the culprits. Mangtanwala Police have registered the case against the accused. No single arrest has yet been made by police in this regard.
Probe against accused ASI starts: Inquiry against an ASI started after recovery of theft car from his possession.
DPO Dr Haider Ashraf, while taking notice of the news published in the different newspapers regarding recovery of theft car from ASI Adeel shoukat, appointed Nankana Circle DSP as inquiry officer.
