At least three persons including a woman and children were killed and nine others injured on Monday night when mortar shells hit houses in North Waziristan agency. The casualties took place in Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan, where terrorists attacked a check post.


Officials said security forces retaliated against the militant attack during which few mortar shells landed on nearby houses, killing three people and injuring nine others.
Local people and Army troops moved the injured to Miranshah headquarters hospital for treatment, sources said.
