Expected extension of Kayani challenged

ISLAMABAD - The expected extension in service of COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has been challenged in Islamabad High Court.

A private TV channel on Sunday reported that the filed petition in the IHC pointed that the age of the incumbent COAS has crossed 60 years as on April 20, 2012 he was of 60 years.
If the government would extend his service then it will be unconstitutional and illegal, therefore, the COAS should be removed from his position, the petition stated.
Chief Justice IHC Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman will hear the proceedings of the filed petition against the COAS about extension in service.
