KHYBER AGENCY - Tribesmen and political administration held a jirga wherein they agreed upon the procedure of distributing Rs 10 million among the heirs of 18 persons killed in Alam gudar area of Bara a few days back.

Political Agent (PA) Khyber, Mutahir Zeb told the jirga that government was stand by the agreements made with jirga members and stated that the Rs 10 millions would be soon handed over to jirga to distribute among the heirs of killed tribesmen. The members of jirga should also play its role to stop abducting and killing of government officials and not to damage official’s property, PA remarked.
He criticised the militants groups for killing the official men as it is against the Islamic preaching. The militant factions could not impose their ideology over other people and if they were making politics on the dead bodies, the govt would never hold talks with them, Mutahir told jirga.

The jirga would meet on 30 January again to present suggestion to local administration for opening Bara bazaar and to lift curfew from the area. PA Khyber, Mutahir Zeb and APA, Bara Nasir Khan ordered the release of 24 tribesmen in the respect of tribal jirga who had been arrested in a protest against government over the killings of 18 tribesmen few days back.
