ISLAMABAD : Even as the Indian Army Chief Gen VK Singh prepares to doff uniform on May 31, he has issued a show-cause notice to a Lt-General who is considered number two in the line of succession. The notice asks Lt-Gen Dalbir Singh, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, to explain reasons for his inept handling of a failed intelligence operation in Assam's Jorhat district the previous year.
