ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court was again assured by the National Accountability Bureau on Wednesday of the arrest of Tauqir Sadiq, former Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority chairman.
As a three-judge bench under Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing on the non-implementation of its judgement about the illegal appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as Ogra chairman, the NAB deputy prosecutor general said teams had been formed and Tauqir Sadiq would soon be arrested. He said they had been working in close cooperation with the Islamabad and Punjab police.
He said that they have sent references against six persons, Tauqir Sadiq, Mir Kamal Fareed Bajrani, Mansoor Muzaffar, Jawwad Jamil, Shahzad Bhatti and Dewan Ziaul Rehman, in the accountability courts for trial.
The deputy prosecutor said the NAB should personally apologise Manto and Mirza Firm for including them in the investigation. Meanwhile, the hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
