LAHORE - PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that a lasting peace cannot come to the region without paying attention to the aspirations of Kashmiri people in the matter of resolving the Kashmir dispute.
While talking to Chairman Muslim Conference, Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat, who called on him at Raiwind on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif supported political, economic and social rights of Kashmiris. Kashmiris should also have freedom to lead a life where their rights are available to them and no undue restrictions are imposed upon them, he said.
Nawaz Sharif and Bhat during the meeting also discussed various matters relating to Kashmir issue and peace in the region.
Nawaz Sharif lauded the Kashmiris’ struggle and sacrifices and said that for a long term peace in South Asia, wishes of the Kashmiri people must be given due regard.
Bhat in his talk appreciated the steps taken by Nawaz Sharif during his past governments and said, the measures and steps Nawaz Sharif governments adopted provided guidelines for solving Kashmir issue.
