NOWSHERA/BARA – At least seven people were wounded on Monday in two separate bomb attacks on security personnel – one in Nowshera district and the other in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency.

A police van carrying prisoners was attacked by a remote-controlled device near Shakai interchange in Nowshera district. At least five persons, including three police personnel, were injured in the explosion and they were taken to a nearby hospital.
The second attack targeted Khasadar force personnel in Jamrud area. The security personnel were on routine patrol in a local market when a bomb planted there exploded with a huge bang injuring a Khasadar soldier and a civilian.
They were taken to a local hospital where doctors said both the injured were in stable condition.
The explosion partially damaged some nearby shops while glass panes of the surrounding buildings were smashed. Fear and panic gripped the area after the blast, while the investigators had initiated a probe into the incident.
