KARACHI - At least seven persons including a woman and a child were killed in separate incidents of violence and arson in various areas of the city whereas five persons including a cleric were also on injured on Monday.
A woman died in a gun firing incident in Machar colony near the Docks area of Karachi while a man died of gunshot wounds suffered in Kunwari colony area within the remit of Manghopir Police Station. The body of a 10-year-old boy was found in Ibrahim Hyderi's Rehri Goth area in Karachi. The body was found with a noose around the neck, according to police sources. Two more bodies were found in Karachi's Orangi town and Ibrahim Hyderi areas. The bodies bore marks of torture.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in PECHS Block 2 area injuring the occupants of the car. A cleric and his driver were critically injured in the attack. Three other persons were injured in separate incidents of violence in Malir and Memon Goth areas of the city.
In a dacoity incident two alleged robbers were killed during an encounter with policemen in Korangi N0 6 area. The robbers were busy looting a sweets shop in the area when a police party reached the spot and an encounter ensued, according to police sources.
