PESHAWAR  – The security forces have made headways in South Waziristan Agency with the assistance of Ahmed Zai and Mehsud tribes, said an ISPR statement.
According to a handout issued by ISPR, the military neutralised at least 40 militants, while a number of their dens were also destroyed completely.
The statement also said that militants had thrown the heads of two martyred security men in Wana Bazaar in a bid to mock at the armed forces, but the tribesmen helped the troops track the insurgents, which finally led to their destruction.
ISPR in the press release glorified the tribesmen’s support terming it “historic”.
The operation, which lasted for eight-hours, claimed the lives of four soldiers as well, the statement added.
