A woman received burn wounds when husband threw acid at her after exchange of hot words over domestic issues here in Multan on Monday.

On Monday morning the couple quarrelled when the house wife demanded money for meeting the domestic needs after which Maqsood poured acid at his wife and fled the scene. Shama, burnt and injured in the acid attack reached Nishtar Hospital where she was admitted in emergency ward.
The doctors said that Shama's face remained safe in the attack however she suffered serious burn wounds.
The police registered a case into the incident and started search for the accused.
It should be mentioned that acid attacks on women have become common in Southern Punjab and masses have expressed grave concern over the situation. They have also criticized the role of law enforcement authorities and organizations working for the welfare of women over their failure to bring an end to acid attacks.
