QUETTA - Taliban kidnappers killed another abducted employee of Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) after not being paid ransom money.
Six employees of BRSP were kidnapped by a group of armed men from Barshore area of Pishin district, about 70-kilometer away from Quetta, on December 13th, 2011 and they were shifted to Waziristan. The kidnapped BRSP employees included Bashir Ahmed, Abdul Ghafoor, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Naimatullah, Dawood Shah and Maqbool Ahmed.  The kidnappers killed one of the employees Maqbool Ahmed resident of Kuchlak in March 20th after not getting ransom amount and warned that if they were not paid ransom amount other five BRSP officials would also be killed.
Sources said that the kidnappers on Friday killed another employee of BRSP identified as Abdul Ghafoor whose body was found in Waziristan near Zhob border.   Abdul Ghafoor was resident of Pishin. ‘The kidnappers phoned and told the family members of Abdul Ghafoor that they have killed him and threw his body in Waziristan near Zhob’, a senior official of BRSP said, adding, that the kidnappers had been demanding Rs 250m as ransom money for the release of remaining five employees.
When contacted officials in Zhob said that so far they had not received body of the kidnapped employee. It may be mentioned here that the relatives of kidnapped BRSP employees have also set up camp and started a campaign to collect donations to pay ransom amount.
However, according to relatives of the kidnapped employees the amount was very high and could not be collected without the help of government.
BRSP is working in various areas of Balochistan on different projects, including provision of clean drinking water, education and health so that the standard of people in remote areas of the province could be improved.
