Four die as electric wire falls on truck

QUETTA - At least four people including a woman of the same family were killed and over three dozen others sustained injuries when 11Kv line of electricity fell on a truck in Chatti area of Kalat district on Friday, some 160 kilometres southeast of Quetta.
According to the Balochistan Levies, a truck carrying several people from Ratodero in Sindh was on its way to Quetta when came 11kv line of electricity fell on it. As a result, four of them died on the spot and 34 others sustained wounds.
Assistant Commissioner Kalat Khuda Baksh Rodeni rushed to the spot with Levies officials and shifted the deceased and injured to Civil Hospital for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Sadam s/o Jalai, Firdus w/o Hidayatullah, Ibrahim s/o Rahimatullah and Dil Bhar s/o Gull Bhar.
“At least 12 people are in critical condition and referred to Quetta for further treatment,” sources said. Commissioner Kalat said that the victims belonged to Sindh who were shifting to Quetta as large number of people move from Sindh to Quetta in summer season.
After completing legal formalities, the deceased were handed over to the heirs.
