Robbers’ gang busted with Rs2b loot

JHANG –The Jhang police claimed to have arrested a notorious inter-district gang involved in several robbery and theft incidents and recovered Rs2 billion from their possession.District Police Officer Akhtar Umer Lalika said that the police said that the gang members entered in Adnan Krakri Store situated at Kot Road and looted an Rs2 million from the shop. In another incident, the gang looted Rs1.35 million from Mitho Telecome on Yousaf Shah Road. The notorious gang also snatched Rs1.8 million and succeeded to escape from the scene, he disclosed. He said that the gang had created horror in the city and people were feeling unsecured and unsafe. He said that a team comprising DSPs City Circle Anjam Kamal, Atif Imran SHO Satellite Police and SI Iram Raza Shah worked on scientific way and arrested the gang ringleader Khalid allies khalidi Atho Bhrwana, a resident of Kot Atho. He said that during the police interrogation, the gang ringleader confessed that the gang was involved in all these incidents and valuables of Rs2 billion has been recovered from their possession. He said that Satellite Town Police arrested a proclaimed offender involved in a blind murder of Athara Hazari Police. The police also traced another three dacoities and arrested dangerous culprits involved in the incidents. He said that the Satelite Town Police also arrested ringleader of Imtiazi gang known as who involved in motorcycle snatchion incident. The police also arrested all members of a notorious inter-district gang and recovered 88-bales of cotton of worth Rs3.5 million from their possession. In spite of this, The Jhang Police also arrested 552 proclaimed offenders and registered 90 case against anti-social elements during the month. The police also recovered 11-kg of heroin, 16-kg of hashish, 400 bottles of wine.  The police also unearthed 6 still working and 240-kg of bhang during the campaign in this month.'
