ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to hand over the charge of Haj scam investigation to Hussain Asghar.
Malik Sher Afzal Joint Secretary Establishment Division, appearing before the court stated that Hussain Asghar, former IGP Gilgit Baltistan, has been transferred back to Islamabad and was facing departmental inquiry for non-compliance of the Supreme Court order.  He said that Hussain Asghar has been posted in the FIA.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the suspension case of Hussain Asghar. The Establishment Division in July this year suspended Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan Hussain Asghar for defying the Supreme Court orders. Hussain Asghar, former Director FIA, who had been investigating the Haj corruption case with the entire satisfaction of the apex court and collected important evidences against the accused of Haj scam, was appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gilgit-Baltistan after ex-DG FIA Malik Iqbal wrote letter to Interior Ministry.
Later Sohail Ahmed, ex-Establishment Secretary, on the court direction, cancelled the transfer of Hussain Asghar.
