ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Sunday said that biggest achievement of the democratic government is maintaining of cordial relations with all regional countries including India, Afghanistan, China and Iran.

She said that Pakistan's identity and foreign relations are not hostage to hostile events and domestic politics.
"The current democratic government played responsible role and believed in peace process through bilateral dialogue with India."
The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan has been formulating and practising its foreign policy with consistency and without getting influenced by events and incidents.
She added that during Salala incident Pakistan went for parliamentary review and pragmatically tackled this hard issue and reassessed its ties with the United States.
She said that Pakistan has showed responsible behaviour during crisis on Line of Control (LoC), which was appreciated by the international community.
Replying to a question, she said Pakistan's two soldiers were killed and a number of troops were injured in LoC incident but despite this Pakistan followed diplomatic norms.
Hina said that Pakistan wants to evolve uninterrupted dialogue with India to solve all major problems for stability and economic progress in the South Asian region.
The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan has long history of dialogue with United States focusing on strengthening ties in areas of economy, defence and people-to-people contacts.
She added that during the last decade Pakistan-US relations were affected by situation in Afghanistan. She said Pakistan has strong commitment to maintain peace and stability in Afghanistan as it is helpful for peace and stability in Pakistan.
Replying to another question, she said that Pakistan sacrificed 40,000 lives in war on terrorism and bore loss of $40 billion, which showed its commitment to sincere effort for peace in the region.
Hina said United States had strategic shift in Afghanistan as it fought with its former allies who were fighting the former Soviet Union.
She said that Pakistan condemns use of violence against any nation for narrow interests.
She added that Pakistan's top most priority is to facilitate dialogue and peace according to aspirations and wishes of Afghan people and the government.
The Foreign Minister said drones attacks are counter-productive as it creates sympathy for the militants.
Replying to another question, she said Pakistan emerged from huge internal and external challenges like natural catastrophes, war on terror, global economic crunch and energy crisis showing resilience of the whole nation.
