Q men still undecided about fixing political track

ISLAMABAD - While defections from PPP side are inevitable, PML-Q members are in a fix to decide about where to reside to maintain there political career as many are not yet clear about PML-N and other parties in no position to promise them a winning situation in the coming elections.
At a time when a month or so has remained in the formation of an interim setup, no meeting between the unnatural allies - PPP and PML-Q - is scheduled or has taken place in recent past to decide upon seat adjustment.
Earlier, both the parties had formed committees to agree on joint candidates in different constituencies but the said committee met once 2 months back without deciding about a single seat of provincial assembly of Punjab.
Certain quarters believe that the seat adjustment would have been decided until now had the Pakistan People’s Party serious enough to honour its commitments made in the very start of the alliance with PML-Q. It is believed that watching the by-election results where PML-Q had to face defeat, led PPP to revisit its thinking about its allies expected performance in the coming elections that whether or not, it could help PPP in any manner to maintain its position.
But at this crucial time PML-Q members have at least opted for a wise policy that is keeping quiet and believing that someone would need them as the elections come nearer. Most of the members are acting as a silent observer at the moment and probably would not let go an opportunity in love of Chaudhry Shujaat.
Members from Punjab are in a great trouble as in Sindh there is still an option available that is Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and same is the case in Balochistan in the shape of Jamiat Ulama-e-Pakistan where seat adjustment can be made or an individual can emerge into the party.
While most of the PML-Q members belong to Punjab, they are going to suffer apparently as PPP might not be in a position to make seat adjustment on most of the seats being a big party as it has many from within the party standing in queue for the party ticket.
One very important point that must be mentioned here that Chaudhry Shujaat was forced to be the ally of PPP because of Ch. Moonis Elahi.
The alliance damaged the party more than anything else that could damage it to the scrap. Certain quarters believe that the miseries of people increased manifold during the rule of PPP and PML-Q would have to be shareholder in the reward from the masses but it cannot share the goodwill of PPP if there is any.
Spokesperson of PML-Q Senator Kamil Ali Agha when asked for his comments on the situation, said, “Considering the present grievances between PML-Q and PML-N there is no chance of party alliance in coming elections but all the other parties are welcome for seat adjustments”.
While giving no figure about the PML-Q members in provincial assemblies, he claimed that still there were 54 MNAs of the party sitting in National Assembly and were intact with the party.
About the party’s understanding with PPP, he said that until and unless there is some meeting arranged between the parties, he cannot say anything about anything.
