BAHAWALPUR - Following directions of the Punjab government, the Irrigation Department launched a crackdown on canal water pilferers n the district.

The Irrigation Department carried out the crackdown in Chak 5/p, Kotla Mahi, Hurwala, Wahi Hazarat and other areas against the farmers involved in water theft.
On the application of Irrigation Department SDOs the police registered separate cases against Ghulam Qadir, Rasheed, Qasim and more than 150 farmers.
