MULTAN - The members of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) staged a protest rally against price hike and denial of raise in their salaries here on Monday. The rally started from Irrigation office and terminated at Multan Press Club. The clerks also staged protest demonstrations as they assembled at different places and carried out non-stop sloganeering against government. The protesters blocked Abdali Road as a sign of protest. Resultantly, traffic jam took place at Nawan Shehr Chowk.

Addressing the participants of rally, Apca Multan division President Abdul Razzaq Baloch and others said that concurrent increase in prices crushed worker class. They said that the government workers were faced with serious financial crisis. “We’re unable to make both the ends together. Our children are starved but the government does nothing to control price hike,” they lamented. They demanded of the government to increase their salaries in proportion with price hike otherwise they would be forced to launch a protest drive. They further asked the government to approve their charter of demands, revive selection grade, move over and additional qualification promotions otherwise they would encircle parliament house.
