Evaluating private edu institutions’ output stressed

PESHAWAR - Paying due heed to public complaints regarding private educational facilities in the province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has said that the mushroom growth of private educational institutions, without focusing the quality education can never be beneficial.He stressed the need for properly regularising the private educational institutions work and monitoring their performance. He emphasised evaluation of the available facilities and ensuring efficient implementation of the given criteria.Presiding over a briefing on working of the Provincial Higher Regulatory Authority at Governor’s House here on Friday, the governor appreciated the aims and objectives of the authority. He said it was only the matter of implementation of the rules and regulations to derive the desired goals.Referring to the certain points raised on this occasion, the governor further pointed out that efficient working of the authority will also be in the best interests of the respective educational institutions as well as their students.Talking about the ongoing process for filling up the vacant post of the Chairman of the Higher Education Regulatory Authority, the governor expressed the confidence that it would be done within the due course of time.Besides, the Secretary Higher Education Mrs Farah Hamed Khan, the Secretary to Governor, M Abid Majeed was also present on this occasion. Meanwhile, the Governor was briefed about working of the authority as well as its future needs.Meanwhile, the Wapda officials have been dispatched to the site in Khyber Agency on Friday to launch repairing work on the power pylons damaged in the last dust storm in Shagai area of tehsil Jamrud, sub-division of Khyber. The Fata grad station sub-divisional officer, Ikramullah who was present on the site said, dozens of Wapda workers have been recalled and have assigned the repairing works.
