Work on Chakdara Bridge starts tomorrow

MALAKAND - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Federal Minister for Communication Dr Arab Alamgir Khan Khalil will attend the groundbreaking ceremony of Chakdara Bridge on May 1 at Fishing Hut, Chakdara.

It is worth mentioning here that July 2010 devastating flood damaged the Chakdara Bridge due to which millions of dwellers of district Dir Lower, Dir Upper, Chitral, Bajaur Agency and some parts of district Swat were facing inconvenience.
Keeping in view the public hardships Pak Army Engineering core have lay down temporary steel bridge on river Swat, but heavy transport was not allowed on the bridge.
National Highway Authority with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank is going to construct new bridge with an estimated cost or Rs 500 Millions.
Mohamand Construction Company has awarded the contract through open bid.
The construction company has shifted heavy machinery on site and will complete the project with 18th months. After groundbreaking ceremony the company will starts work on full swing.
Federal Minister for Communication Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan will visit Thana Press Club earlier and will give answers to the questions of press club members.
