MALAKAND - Following a tip-off, Malakand Levies raided an area near Shareef Khan kalay Sakhakot and arrested an alleged abductor who belonged to Matta, Swat, police said.
They said the Levies raided the area and arrested Rehman Gul, son of Bakhti Muhammad, while crossing main Malakand road along with an eight-year-old minor boy Shahid, whom he had allegedly abducted from Peshawar a week ago. The alleged abductor was transferring abducted boy to Sakhakot, Mardan, where he passed last night.
The police said that the child rights activists of Malakand expressed grave concern over an increase in children abduction cases in Malakand. They have urged the government to take practical steps to control violence against children.
