ISLAMABAD - PML-N MNA from Haripur Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday, thus signalling his departure from the PML-N.
Sources said Sardar Mushtaq had taken serious view of the meeting of PML-Q Likeminded leader and former speaker National Assembly Gohar Ayub Khan with Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, without taking him on board.
During the meeting, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had promised to award party ticket to Gohar Ayub Khan's son Omar Ayub Khan, the former minister of state in Shaukat Aziz's Cabinet, who was elected from the same National Assembly seat from Haripur.
According official sources in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Sardar Mushtaq and his colleagues discussed with the president issues relating to their constituencies.
Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah and Dr Abdul Qayyum Soomro were also present during the meeting.
