KARACHI - Business fraternity of Karachi put off their strike call over deteriorating law and order situation in the city, after a meeting with Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad.

Governor Ishratul Ebad told the traders’ representatives that their complaints were justified but he said that things could not be fixed overnight. However, he assured them that all possible steps would be taken for their security.
The governor said that concept of community policing would be introduced in the city. After the meeting, told reporters: “We have chalked out a strategy to improve the law and order condition in the metropolis.”
“I will personally ensure that this strategy is implemented,” he said, adding that business community must keep in mind the ground realities. He said that government has decided to buy a mobile locator, which he felt, would help curb the activities of money extortion and other crimes.
Speaking on this occasion, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) leader Qasim Teli said that after the assurances by the governor they have postponed the Nov 10 strike call to Nov 30.
