Fazl misquoting facts, says Nisar

ISLAMABAD - Taking strong notice of the statement of Maulana Fazlur Rehman about the consultation process on caretaker setup, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Ch Nisar Ali Khan said that either the JUI-F chief is ignorant about the constitutional and legal requirement or he is deliberately misquoting and distorting the facts for obvious reasons.

Ch Nisar Ali Khan wondered how Maulana Fazlur Rehman had criticised rather negated the constitutional process for the installation caretaker setup whereas his party (JUI-F) had fully supported the passage of 20th constitutional Amendment under which the whole exercise was initiated by him.
To confuse and misrepresent the consultation between the Leader of the House and Leader of the Opposition which is both constitutional and legal in nature to the informal interaction which the Leader of the Opposition is having with all opposition parties amounts to a total distortion and fabrication of the situation on the ground.
Fazl should be careful in using the world “blackmail” because the people of this country are fully aware of those leaders whose politics is centered on self-interest and blackmail.
It is strange that Maulana Fazlur Rehman occupies the opposition benches but constantly supports the government and criticises the opposition. At least he should have the moral courage to clarify whether he is with the government or the opposition.
Unfortunately, Maulana’s entire political career has been replete with political opportunism, summersault, U-turn and wheeling and dealing. His latest statement seems to be an exercise in the same direction.
It is highly ironic that PML-N is the target of Maulana Fazlure Rehman’s ire on an issue on which those was total consensus in Parliament while he seems to be all sugar and honey with the government against whom he had threatened to launch a movement if the NATO supplies were restored.
