People vote on basis of performance, not surveys: Elahi

Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi Sunday said people vote on the basis of performance and not on surveys.

He said this while addressing Annual General Meeting of the Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association in Gujrat.
He said that the govt. is utilizing all resources for the development and growth of the industry in the country and all possible facility will be provided for development of electric fan industry and use of latest technology in Gujrat in order to boost exports so that maximum foreign exchange can be earned.
The meeting was addressed by the Association's Chairman Manzoor Sarwar Rathore and other office-bearers and former Provincial Minister Mian Imran Masood. On arrival in the function, very warm reception was accorded to Ch Parvez Elahi.
Ch Parvez Elahi said 80 per cent of electric fan industry is located in Gujrat which is earning precious foreign exchange for the country and millions of people are earning their livelihood from this industry.
He said that for the development and promotion of the industry, paying full attention to both high quality and latest technology is essential so that we can compete in the international market.
He said for introduction of latest technology in this industry, Fan Technical Institute will be set up in Gujrat at an estimated cost of Rs 450 million including Rs 250 million for establishing the best international standards laboratory. He said through these measures, Pakistani industry will become better than many countries.
He said that we need such fans which consume minimum electricity.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that cooperation in the development of this industry and solution of its problems has always been our first priority. He assured them that the govt. and his ministry would take all possible steps for the solution of their problems.
He said that serving Gujrat and its people and their development and prosperity has always remained first priority of my elders, family and for himself. He said that during his tenure as the Chief Minister, millions of rupees were allocated for the improvement of Gujrat Industrial Estate alone adding that in 2007, Rs 18 millions funds were provided for this Industrial Estate which is established over an area of 237 acres. Earlier Ch Parvez Elahi administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association and distribut6ed trophies and shields among those showed the best performance.
