10 injured, nine vehicles damaged in Peshawar blast

At least 10 persons were injured and several vehicles damaged in a blast near a police van here in Peshawar on Thursday.

According to details, the blast took place near police van while it was on routine patrol at GT Road near Jinnah Park Peshawar. As a result of blast 10 persons near the scene of explosion sustained wounds while nine vehicles were also damaged.
Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where their condition was reported to be out of danger.
Officials said that it was a planted bomb aimed at targeting police but they remain unhurt.
It should be mentioned that security forces were at the hit list of militants and several were martyred and injured in such attacks during recent months. Khyber Pakhunkhawa government in view of attacks on police has already given approval to make 274 vehicles used by police, bomb proof.
