KHYBER AGENCY - Fierce fighting between pro-government Ansar-ul-Islam (AI) and banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continued on sixth day which left 12 militants dead while six other received critical injuries on Wednesday in different localities of Tirah Valley, a far-flung area of tehsil Bara Khyber Agency, official and local sources said.The local tribesmen said that the death toll reached 92 after the clashes between Ansar-ul-Islam and TTP took place in last six days. Sources further said in fresh fighting, around 12 militants alongwith two volunteers from (AI) were killed and six others received injuries. Both armed factions during clashes used heavy weapons against each other, locals stated.Spokesman of Ansar-ul-Islam claimed to have taken in possession at least 16 strongholds of TTP in Mamozai area and stated that they had taken the control of Khyber Sangar locality. He said the fighting was still underway in the area.Meanwhile, Kamar Khel Aman Sharshata (peace Lashkar) claimed to have taken control of two hideouts from banned outfit Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in clashes on Wednesday in Takhtakai, Kamar Khel area of tehsil Bara while LI had announced to apprehend the tribesmen of Takhtakai, Kamarkhel Takhkai if found anywhere. On other hand, the political administration Khyber announced curfew in Bara.The curfew was also extended to Ber-Kamber Khel and Aka Khel areas of Bara, sources said.
