NANKANA SAHIB - Hundreds of people attacked the Executive Engineer’s Office and broke windowpanes of the office besides shouted slogans against the government.
They said that the corrupt, cruel and selfish rulers had nothing to do with the problems being faced by the masses. Urgent meeting of the district load management committee was conducted to review the current situation to avoid any further agitation by the traders and the public.
DCO Hassan Iqbal, DPO Syed Ashafq Anwar, Lesco  XEN Sheikhupura with additional charge of Nankana, ADC, Assistant Commissioner Nabeela Irfan, Secretary General Markazi Anjuman Tajran Engr Shahid Mahmmod, MPA Rana Muhammad Arshad, journalists, and officer-bearers of trader bodies participated in the meeting.
Traders’ representatives regretted that the Lesco never honored their commitments regarding loadshedding. They also expressed their concerns over prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding up to 18 to 20 hours a day during Ramazan. They said what creditability of the present government could be if the president and the prime minister had no respect for their own promises.
They warned that the corrupt rulers would have to face defeat in the upcoming general elections due to the mismanagement and loadshedding.
“The faithful of the country are performing religious obligations in the month in a stressed situation. People are not able to take their sleeps and perform their business activities due to the prolonged loadshedding,” they said.
On the other hand, the XEN said that 18-20 hours loadshedding would be decreased to 12 hours within next 3 to 4 days. He added that around 1,500 MW power was out of the system due to damaging of the electric pylons of the main supply from Muzaffargarh to Lahore.
