38 new dengue cases in Karachi

KARACHI - Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department on Tuesday reported that as many as 38 more new cases of dengue fever have been registered in the metropolis during the last five days.
As per the report, the said nine new cases of dengue fever have taken the total numbers to 408 during the ongoing year. Out of the total cases 405 cases were found positive with the virus.
Meanwhile, Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) is organising an international conference on the state of education and its relevance in present times, from November 1-3 in Karachi. This year’s theme is ‘In Search of Relevance and Sustainability of Educational Change’.
The sub-themes will cover innovations in teaching, conventional and alternative assessment methods, the relevance of curriculum in changing times, responsive governance and management, and educational policies and practices that can contribute to societal well-being. There will also be concurrent paper presentations on a variety of topics.
8 candidates caught using unfair means:  Board of Secondary Education Karachi caught as many as eight candidates while using unfair means in the SSC Part-II (class-X) Supplementary Examinations-2012 in morning and evening shifts held on Tuesday.
According to BSEK Controller Examinations Nauman Ahsan, the first paper of Pakistan Study for science and general groups was held in the first shift.
