At least five persons were killed and several others injured when a US drone targeted a house here late on Wednesday night.
According to details, an unmanned US spy plane fire two missiles at a compound in Zafar Town area near main Miranshah bazaar in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
The compound was destroyed in the attack resultantly five people were killed and several others sustained wounds.
The US drones continued low flights in the area creating panic among the dwellers. The locals also avoided to take part in the rescue operation due to low flights of spy planes.
An official in Peshawar confirmed the attack, saying the identities of the people were immediately unclear.
The Pakistani government has repeatedly protested against drone strikes as a violation of its sovereignty.
The incident comes a week after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged US President Barack Obama to stop drone strikes during a meeting in Washington.
The Pakistani defence ministry Wednesday said 317 US drone strikes in the country's tribal areas had killed 67 civilians and 2,160 militants in Pakistan since 2008.
