DG Hajj operation granted leave instead of initiation of action against him on corruption charges

ral government has not dismissed or suspended from service Director General (DG) Rao Shakeel from service who has been called back from Saudi Arabia on the report from parliamentary committee on religious affairs in connection with his involvement in alleged financial irregularities in Hajj operation and on the other has he has been granted one month leave.
Official sources told Online news agency Monday prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani had announced in parliament to suspend Rao Shakil and hold inquiry against him but these directives had not been implemented so far.
Establishment division had made Rao Shakil only OSD who was required to report to establishment division on his return from Saudi Arabia. On the other hand he was not suspended but he applied for one month leave which was granted to him.
He was charged with embezzling Rs 1 billion in the scam of acquiring houses for pilgrims but no investigation had been initiated against him. While ministry of religious affairs and government had thrown NA standing committee on religious affairs report into dustbin whereby recommendations were made for taking action against Rao Shakil.
The orders of the prime minister had also not been complied with as Rao Shakil was stated to be having close links with a top functionary of government.
