Extremists bent upon dismembering country, says Shujaat
Pari
s (Online) - PML-Q Quaid Senator Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that extremists and terrorists are bent upon dismembering Pakistan, adding that we need to handle the situation in an amicable way to avoid the East Pakistan-like situation.
Addressing to a party in Paris, Shujaat said that he condemned the Lal Mosque operation but Gen (r) Musharraf misused his powers. I condemn the Lal Mosque operation even today, it was totally a wrong decision.
He also held former President Musharraf responsible for Akbar Bugtis murder saying, he had called for dealing with Bugti issue with restraint as he was only confined to Dera Bugti and was never against the federation.
Condemning the Taliban militancy he proclaimed that those who flog women and kill innocent could not be called Muslims. We cannot forgive those who are responsible for the killing of Pakistan Army soldiers in Swat.
He said that the internally displaced people (IDPs) from Swat should be welcomed and treated whole-heartedly.
He further said that a separatist movement was being launched in Balochistan and if we did not handle this situation the right way, then we would face another East Pakistan-like situation.
When Coordinator Muslim League (Q) France Ch Shaheen drove his attention towards community problems and Pakistani schools in France, Shujaat vowed to solve these problems by presenting the issue in Senate.
Regarding Muslim league (Q) units in Europe he said that we had not yet built up any new bodies and were not willing to make any. He clearly stated that the bodies previously working were still operational.
Shujaat stressed the party members and workers to be united with central leadership and serve Pakistani community and organise assistance for their Swat brethren.
Coordinator Muslim League (Q) France Ch Shaheen arranged this reception in PML-Q Quaids honour.
