TA -Police have foiled a major terrorist bid on Sunday in Panjgur a bordering town with Iran and recovered 2000 kilograms explosives after an exchange of firing, said police.
According to official sources, police party on routine patrol, some 15 kms away from Panjgur Bazaar when it signalled a suspicious vehicle for search. The accused did not stop vehicle and tried to escape from the site. Police chased them and after an exchange of fire accused left the vehicle and managed to escape.
Police took the vehicle into the custody and recovered 2000 kilograms explosives from it. Explosives were meant for carrying out activities of terrorism in Panjgour and other parts of Makran division, a senior police official said.
Police have registered a case against unknown miscreants and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani has lauded the Panjgoor Police for its brisk action and foiling a big terrorist bid.
