Taliban militants not in position to target schools in Swat: Sardar Hussain Babak
Education Minister Sardar Hussain Babak has said that the militants are not in the position to target any school in restive areas as the security forces are continuing their operation against them. Furthermore, the local population has also stood up against militants. People are supporting the government in search operations against militants, minister said while talking to Voice of America. Commenting on IDPs fear from Taliban he said that any leader cannot operate without his organization and communication network. When Taliban infrastructure has been destroyed, how their leader will be able to operate. Maulana Fazlullah and his aides are hiding from operation. If they were leaders, they would have not hidden, minister said. He added that government is committed to eliminate these elements. We provide security to the people, and government is going to form a community police in Buner, Swat and other areas. They will be paid salary. To another question Hussain assured that there should not be any hurdle in educational system. We may make alternate arrangements including hiring of buildings or installing tents for schooling, but schools will be opened on August 1,2009 at every cost.
