ISLAMABAD (Agencies) - A US Embassy spokesman has said that ‘heightened security’ has prompted the suspension of routine consular services Friday (today) at the American mission in Islamabad.
Lou Fintor declined Thursday night to give any more information on what led to the security concern in Islamabad. He said the US consulates in Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar will be open Friday.
Fintor said while regular consular services, such as visa processing for Pakistani nationals, won’t be available in the capital on Friday, the embassy still will be able to provide emergency services to Americans.
