Kayani declares 2009 as Military Training Year

Army chief General Asfhaq Parvez Kayani has given a go ahead to declare 2009 as a ‘Military Training Year’ for the armed forces. This was stated by Corps Commander Mangla, Lt-Gen Nadeem Ahmed while speaking to media person during ongoing military drill near Kharian. The Corps Commander said that year 2009 would be marked as Military Training Year. He said that military training programs were restricted this year owing to the economic challenges faced by the nation. He said that training schedule of armed forces was affected over law and order situation in tribal areas and rehabilitation of quake-affected people. To a question about nuclear capability, Lt.-Gen Nadeem Ahmed said conventional and unconventional war technique has now changed due to this capability.
