4 bodies found; stray bullet kills minor boy

KARACHI - At least five people were killed in different areas of the City on Saturday.
As per details, police have found a body of a youth from a sewerage nullah located near his residence at Khairabad Goth in the limits of Manghopir police station.
The youth’s body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities where he was identified as Arshad Ali, 22, son of Shahnawaz. An initial inquiry revealed that the deceased was working in a local garment factory. He went missing from Friday and his body was found on Saturday.
Police said that the deceased had torture marks on his neck and suspected that some unidentified culprits strangled him to death. The cause behind the murder was yet to be ascertained while no case was registered till this report was filed.
Separately, a bullet-riddled body of a young man was found from Old Haji Camp in the limits of Kalakot police Station. The body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi and then shifted to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth for identification.
Police officials said that some unknown culprits shot him at least four times and later threw his body at an abandon place. Police, however, suspected that it was a target killing and Lyari gangsters might be behind this incident. The case has been registered against the unidentified persons.
Similarly, a ten-year-old boy, identified as Nawaz, son of Muzaffar, was killed by a stray bullet at his house located near ICI bridge and his body was shifted to civil hospital from where his family took it away without legal formalities.
Hospital sources quoted the deceased’s brother Saddam as saying that the deceased received a stray bullet in his head which resulted in his immediate death. The family of the deceased took his body at their hometown Larkana for burial. There was a dispute over jurisdiction between the three police stations including Baghdadi, Kalri and Docks till the filing of this report.
In another incident, a 35-year-old man was found dead at his rented flat in Azim Plaza in the limits of Garden police station.
Police said the victim Shoaib, son of Tariq Ali, from Multan, was working in the oil market in Jubilee and resided alone at the first floor of the said residential apartment.
SHO Garden Police Abdul Ghaffar Korai said that the incident occurred at least two-three days ago when the deceased hanged himself or might be hanged by anyone else. He said that they found the body after the residents informed them about the body.
“Investigation is underway and the case would be registered when his heirs will contact the police. The body was shifted to CHK for legal formalities
In another incident, the body of a 28-year-old was found at Miran Naka in the limits of Chakiwara police station on Saturday.
Police sources said that some unidentified persons had tortured the youth to death and dumped the body - all tied up with ropes. Police failed to establish the identification of the body. Later the body was moved to Edhi morgue.
