MOHSIN ALI
ISLAMABAD - International Tennis Federation (ITF) has allotted two Grade V International Junior Tennis Championships to Pakistan in the late half of 2012.
In an exclusive talk with TheNation on Thursday, Pakistan Tennis Federation secretary Mumtaz Yousaf said this and said: Holding of these competitions will serve as a major step towards reviving the international tennis competitions in the country besides holding of the Davis Cup ties in Pakistan.” “PTF has succeeded in getting these tournaments because of the immense struggle and extensive efforts made in convincing ITF regarding holding of Davis Cup tie against Lebanon and Philippines in our country,” he added.
He added that the PTF would take every possible step for bringing international tennis to Pakistan so that the local players would be provided with a chance to play and compete along side international layers at their own soil.
