Talking to media here at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday after their arrival from India, Pakistan women team captain Sana Mir said: “We played good cricket in the World Cup but regret losing the tournament.”
The team played four matches in the tournament which were moved to the eastern city of Cuttack when the right-wing nationalist Shiv Sena threatened to disrupt Pakistan's matches in Mumbai.
Captain Sana Mir believed that the team was under pressure in India but tried to play good cricket. Apologizing over the failure, Sana said they would hopefully perform better in future.
Team manager Ayesha Ashar said the team needed to pay attention on its batting. The issue of security also hinder the team's preparedness for the tournament, she added.
